[Yeah, no. It was a dumb idea. He'll just. Stick that back in his pocket and forget it's there.]

[Namur cringes a little, running his palm over the back of his head. Okay, it'll be fine though. Just get moving.]

Anyway, let's go.

[He motions his head down the hallway, then stands to do just that.]

*Oh no, she didn't mean to offend him. He looks pretty unhappy by her comment, and at once Sonico is sorry that she responded that way. She adjusts the straps of her backpack as she moves closer to the door. Once she steps outside, Sonico glances to the side he'd hidden the blind fold*

I trust you, you know. If you wanted to use the blind fold... That's...okay.

Nah, seriously. 'S fine. Know how weird it'd look with me carryin' y' all over town blindfolded, anyway? Shit. Wanna have a fun date with y', not get my ass 'rrested. Jus' have y' close yer eyes when we get close, aye?

[Namur takes her hand in his, threading his fingers between hers just a touch- as much as his webbing will allow.]

Oh - I suppose you're right. I'm sure it would cause all sorts of problems if we were seen like that.

*Sonico blinks as she considers the consequences, hoping that they would manage to have a hassle free date*

Just say when and I'll close my eyes.

*When he takes her hand, Sonico starts in surprise, unsure about what's going on. No one has ever held her hand like that, never mind a guy with shark hands. It makes her more surprised than she knows it should, but she does her best to act like it's totally normally as she closes her apartment door and readjusts her backpack strap with her free hand*

So...where to?

Well, first off, there's this really happenin' place. Film a whole buncha action movies an' shit there, so y' know 's gonna be 'xcitin'...

[It's the el train. He takes her to the el train and helps her board, snagging a spot for himself in one of the standing areas, though he hunches over in it. As soon as the train car inevitably clears out at the next stop, he moves over and takes up his favorite seats on the bench- right in the corner, so he can sit sideways with a leg up for balance and fit his fin into the angular space behind. Sonico is free to join him, if she so desires. Genessia's a big city, after all, and the train makes a roundabout circuit.]

A'ight, so the train ain't actually as 'xcitin' as all that. But they do show up in a buncha movies an' shit. Sheheheh!

Action movies?

*Sonico may not have sounded entirely sure about that - she was hardly an expert on first dates, but that wasn't one of the usual ones, was it? Still, Namur seems pretty excited, so Sonico smiles and is happy to go with it.

Being on a train with him is quite the experience as it's quite clear that it really isn't made for someone of his size. She sits down next to him, careful to leave a space between them, concerned at how cramped he is*

Is this okay? I mean...are you comfortable?

[He lifts his shoulders.]

Used t' dealin' with this shit, so it don't bother me none. Sheheheh!

[He does his best not to notice the people that duck in and then quickly duck out of their car as soon as they see him, too, but that's a little bit harder to do when they gasp or give muted screams. Sonico has no idea how brave she's being.]

When's yer next concert gonna be? Lookin' forward t' hearin' yer new songs.

*Sonico half frowns and half pouts when she sees how people react to Namur sitting cramped in the car. For some reason, she feels pretty protective about him, and shuffles to sit even closer to him. She looks up with a smile, happy to have something else to talk about*

Hmm? Oh, I don't know. I'm not sure I'm ready to sing anything new at a large gig. Maybe something much smaller.

How much smaller y' got in mind?

[Namur doesn't mind her shifting closer. He leans an elbow on his propped-up knee, and angles his hand palm up toward her. Just in case she kinda liked that hand-holding thing.]

Think a 'bout a dozen li'l bars an' clubs an' shit that'd love t' have y' play for 'em. Or were y' thinkin' like maybe one or two friends an' that's it?

*Sonico looks up at him hopefully, too scared to really believe it so easily*

That's...what I was thinking. Just...little quiet gigs. I haven't really done that sort of thing before.

*She glances down at his hand, and while she might be embarrassed to put her hand in his, she does walk a couple of fingers across his palm*

[That's... new. He grins a little, twitching his thumb up to caress the side of her finger.]

Sweetheart, y' killed it at the Winter Gala. Course folks is gonna wanna see more! Hell, bet y' could get ol' Gale t' letcha play at Afterlife, anyway.

*She pauses walking her fingers as his thumb touches hers, and she is quite aware of her blush and hopes that he isn't finding her too weird. But when he compliments her more she is surprised and begins to take her hand away*

Oh - thank you... But - that was Christmas, and a big party, and I had a big band with me... This is..different. Just me and a little guitar. I don't know if anyone would want to hear that.

[Far from finding it weird, Namur was enjoying it. His first instinct when she starts to pull away is to grab her hand firmly. He wants that connection, damn it! But then he thinks he might have made her uncomfortable, and that's the last thing he wants, so he loosens his grip.]

Nothin' says y' can't hire a band t' go on with y'. But c'mon, weren't the shitty band that got everbody groovin'. Not 'til y' showed up.

[He winks.]

Ever tried gettin' a solo gig?

*Sonico smiles at Namur, a little wider than she did before, more welcome now to his compliments. It's still not something she's used to accepting, but from him it seems genuine, and she likes that*

No. Not ever.

*She shakes her head slowly to emphasise her point*

I think that's...why it seems so strange, and why I don't really want much of a crowd.

[From the side, the hand that Sonico hadn't been flirting with gives her a firm but very held back karate chop right to the middle of her head. She's pretty and delicate as a water lily, but Namur knows everyone needs a good thump every now and again, and he's not above giving it.]

So yer bein' a dumbass 'bout it cuz yer scared.

[He sounds amused more than judgmental.]

Sounds like y' got some shit t' knock off, huh?

*The sudden movement made Sonico gasp loudly, her eyes and mouth falling wide open. The chop was surprising and firm enough that tears sprang to her eyes. At once, Sonico turned her head and stared in the opposite direction, lapsing into silence as she thought about what he said*

[Lord of the Sea eat him alive on the spot. What the hell?]

Didn't knock y' that hard, did I? Shit, look at me, gotta make sure yer eyes ain't gone funny.

[He reaches out to turn her toward him. He has to actually focus on making sure his touch is gentle enough because now he's paranoid.]

*When she turns back to him, her eyes are clear, bur she only looks at him for a moment before lowering her gaze and bowing her head*

No. I'm fine. And I'm very sorry - you were right.

*She realises this is why it's easier to keep worries to herself and why she doesn't usually bother people with her real feelings*

Huh? Sorry for what? Oi.

[Yeah that half a second wasn't nearly enough for him to tell if her pupils were dilated or different sizes. He's worried even that little knock gave her a concussion, okay? That is serious shit, and that is why he is insistently turning her face toward him as often as he has to in order to make eye contact for a meaningful amount of time.]

Listen, sweetheart, need y' t' look at me an' count t' twenty, a'ight? An' there ain't nothin' t' be 'shamed of. Everbody gets scared an' does dumbass shit. Point is, now y' been called on it, whatcha gonna do 'bout it?

*Sonico takes a couple of moments before she's ready to look him in the eye for any length of time; she's still feeling pretty embarrassed. So when she does allow herself to look him in the eye, she finds it best to keep talking*

I'm going to keep practising my new songs. And when they're ready, I'm going to ask a couple of bars if they wouldn't mind if I played there.

*Sonico blinks and glances down, only for a second, wondering if that hand was still there to take. It was quite reassuring*

Do I still need to count to twenty for you?

[Unfortunately, he is not an octopus type, and only has the two hands with which to try keeping her face turned toward him and all of her hair pulled back and away, so both are a little bit occupied.]

Yes, damn it. Didn't mean t' hurt y' when I knocked y' so now I gotta make sure I ain't gotta take y' t' the doc 'stead a the lake.

[Wouldn't that just be the way? Shit.]

You didn't hurt me... *Much* I was just surprised.

*The way he's holding her head means that she has no option but to face him and, dutifully, she keeps her eyes on his, her expression a little concerned as she slowly and carefully counts up to twenty. Then she sits silently, waiting to see what he makes of that*

[Namur finally gets a good look at both of her eyes and decides that if the pupils are different sizes they're being sneaky little shits about it, because he can't tell. She's probably fine. He nods and slides his hands down over her cheeks, cupping her chin for a moment before letting them drop.]

Well, y' made a good decision once y' got over it. An' here's our stop. C'mon.

[He reaches out to take her hand again, but this time gently knocks the back of his knuckles against hers, just in case she wants some space.]

*Nopes, those eyes are looking normal because everything is normal. Don't worry! She smiles, even if she is a little bewildered when he holds her face like that*

Oh!

*It's almost as though she forgot they were even going somewhere. Soncio starts to get up, looking at his hand as he reaches nearer hers. She lets their knuckles touch, then tickles the length of his fingers with her fingertips before stepping off the train*

[Such a tease, holy shit. If that's the way she wants to play it, Namur's game.
He runs his fingertips along the inside of her arm when he wants her to turn one way, and bumps her with his hip when he wants her to turn the other. Eventually though, he gives up and just picks her up and puts her on his shoulders, where he can trace circles on her thighs under the guise of "keeping her balanced". They make their way through the archway to Fayren, and Namur pauses.]
